For The Blue is a documentary about the problems and solution to plastic pollution in the ocean: projectblue.co.nz
The project consists of several short infographic animations within the documentary. In this project, I work collaboratively with a team of 3 motion graphic designers at Fox&Co design to concept, styleframe and animate.
All the works are done within Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
For The Blue provided us with the script and the voice-over, while we built up the visual through the illustrations and motion. With a lot of creative freedom, I was able to bring a lot of my vision and personal touch to this project. We also have a relaxing timeline for this project, which allows me to explore and iterate more on creating dynamic and comprehensive infographic videos.
One of the main challenges for this project is data visualisation, as it requires creating impactful, simple and easy to understand visual that represents data and complicated concept. To make sure the image and animation are factually correct, I spent a lot of time learning about the subject and from then, create a suitable design to visual lise the data.
